How far is this from vegas? Has anyone been there. Looks like it could be a nice day trip.

According to maps.Yahoo.com Vegas to Death Valley is 175miles and takes 4 hours to drive. Therefore you%26#39;re looking at 8 hours to drive there and back in 1 day. Not counting anytime you%26#39;ll spend looking at the Castle. Not sure why they think you%26#39;ll only be able to drive 45 MPH, but I%26#39;m guessing maybe the road through Death Valley National Park must be VERY rough or very slow going.

Scotty%26#39;s Castle is about 150 miles from Las Vegas via US95 and NV267 (Grapevine Canyon) and will take about three and a half hours to drive. Have never been there myself but a lot of people reckon it%26#39;s worth a look at.
