We%26#39;re staying at The Venetian and are terribly excited about it. But I was just wondering exactly how the check-in process works, especially regarding the parking/valet parking situation? Forgive my ignorance, but I%26#39;ve never used valet parking anywhere before, so here are the questions that sprung to my mind:
We%26#39;re arriving by car, but where do we go? And what do we do with the car when we arrive? Do we just pull-up at an area marked %26#39;check-in%26#39; (or something), unload everything from the car, and then hand the keys over to a valet who then will take it away somewhere?
And what happens when you want to get in your car again? Do you go and find a valet and ask them to get your car for you? And do you get your car keys back once the valet has first parked your car - or do they keep them somewhere, and you only get them back when you want your car at the end?
Thank you for any help on this matter (and once again, sorry if the questions sound dumb!)
Help Please - Check-in/Valet Parking (Venetian)
When you pull up to the Venetian, you will see an area marked as ';valet.'; Just drive up, someone will come to your car, tell them you are checking in. They will ask if you need help with your bags, and if you do, they will get a bellhop for you. They will ask you for your last name and hand you a ticket to claim your car when you need it again. That%26#39;s it. They%26#39;ll take it from there. They will keep your keys. I always take off all keys except the one for the car just in case...
When you want your car, just call ahead and tell them, or just go down to the bellmen desk and tell them you need your car. Make sure you keep your ticket though.

No dumb questions reddiguy. :)
Vegastraveler is correct. Don%26#39;t worry, it%26#39;s not difficult.
Just don%26#39;t lose your ticket, and tip the valet a couple of bucks when you get your car.
Have a wonderful trip. The Venetian is a beautiful hotel!!
alternatively park it yourself.
Hi Rediguy,
I go to the Venetian on 20th March, am very excited. When do you go ?
Thanks
Joanne
you might want to brush up on tipping etiquette (especially in Vegas). here%26#39;s a good site: www.goingtovegas.com/myvegas.htm#tipping
Thank you all for your helpful answers - we%26#39;ll certainly know what to do now :o)
To Joanne - we%26#39;re there in the middle of June, and we%26#39;ve got an excellent rate of $149/night off their web site. I think this rate is about as good as it gets at this hotel, so I%26#39;m very pleased. Hope you have a great time when you go!
VegasTravelers advice was right on except for one thing. When you want your car back, you go see the Valet parkers, not the BellDesk. $1-2 tip for valet. $1 per bag for Bell Man when they handle your bags. These are minimums. Tip more if the service was excellent and you can afford it. Staying at the Venetian I%26#39;m sure you can.
Sorry I didn%26#39;t catch that reddiguy.
VM is so observant. But I guess in his line of work he has to be!!! ;-)
