Stayed with my wife at the Monte Carlo 3/2-3/5. The front desk clerk convinced me to upgrade to a Monaco Suite for an additional $35 the first two nights and an additional $89 the last night (Friday). I went for it and was initally impressed.
The room was large and well appointed. It had a jetted tub and couch but the t.v. seemed a bit small. Unfortunately we found that reviews that stated the noise was excessive were right. Well, let me clarify, the walls are thin. But if the traffic in the hall isn%26#39;t bad then you won%26#39;t hear much anyway. On the first night, I heard only some chatter as guests walked to the elevator.
In the morning I could hear the water running in the surrounding rooms. I wasn%26#39;t impressed for what we would have to pay on Friday. Otherwise, the tub is deep, the lotions and shampoos are great. The Monaco suite comes with an extra bathroom which isn%26#39;t really helpful unless you have friends stay over.
We switched to a standard room on Friday night and found that the noise was similar. It seems to come through the door rather than the walls. Bummer - I really wanted to give praises to the Monte when we showed up. On an ';up'; note, the casino is nice and it is great to have reasonable dining in the hotel. The food court was fantastic from a budget perspective.
BOTTOM LINE: If you%26#39;re going and not planning on staying in the room or sleeping in late - go for it. Find a deal on their site and watch the rates. Re-book every time the rates drop.
