StaunchSteve....Orleans question for you

Steve we are thinking about the Orleans for our trip in July and I have seen how you recommend the hotel etc. Just wondered is there any shops, convenience stores nearby or just nice walks around the general area - I really like a good walk and we will be staying for about a week. Thanks. Please let me know anymore plusses if you can!!

StaunchSteve....Orleans question for you

Also Steve, do you know how the pool is and the workout facilities? My wife and I are in our 30%26#39;s and would be visiting for our 3rd wedding anniversary. What is the crowd age there? Thanks

StaunchSteve....Orleans question for you

Does anyone know the answer to this question...please!

There are one or two convience type stores around the orleans within 10 minutes walk. The area is safe enough to walk around in, although there is nothing really to see. It is however an excellent casino and the shuttle runs very often to the strip, on average the most you usually wait is 20 minutes

Right across from the Orleans is an Irish Pub and a mini strip mall with a few eating choices. Panda Express is the one I know is there. After that you have a Bank of America (Home Depot sits behind the bank) and next to that a 7-11. Across the street diagonally from the 7-11 is a Walgreens. In the center behind Walgreens there is a Day Spa, 24 hour fitness (Gym) a Denny%26#39;s and several other business%26#39;. Not much to see around there, but it is a safe area to walk (As noted previously). Take the free shuttle to get to the strip.

Thank you both for your replies....!

Paul,

The pool is nothing fancy, it is nice, and some say it%26#39;s in the shadow of the tower during part of the day. So you may have to move chairs now and then to stay in or out of the sun. They charge $10 for use of the fitness area, but I beileve there is a free pass in the coupon book you get when checking in.

The crowd there varies, midweek you%26#39;ll see a LOT of locals. Drs, Lawyers, construction workers, cabbies and dancing girls come in for a drink or two or to try thier luck after they get off work. On the weekends the mix turns to more visitors. They have a lot of blowling leagues from CA (And other states) that come for the end of season trip.

You%26#39;ll see more kids upstairs near the theater and bowling alley. Good mix of restaurants and bars there. Make a sports bet and ask for drink tickets.

Joe

Thanks Joe...
