Imperial Palace? Why Mixed reviews?

We have booked the Imperial Palace for May. The rate is great and we don%26#39;t mind a ';holiday Inn'; style quality. We want to gamble and see the shows. What I dion%26#39;t understand is why there are such varied reviews on the place. Half love it. Half hate it. What%26#39;s up with that? Also, has anyone tried the spa at the Imperial Palace? My wife is interested in the spa. Can anyone help me with the truth about this place...we don%26#39;t need fancy, just clean and a good location. Thanks for any input.

Imperial Palace? Why Mixed reviews?

tables bad, slots tight, comps bad, place this place

needs a face lift bad................

Imperial Palace? Why Mixed reviews?

Because everyone has an opinion......

Alvin,

All depends on what your expectations are. If someone expects Bellagio quality when paying $65 a night they are going to be upset. Those that go in knowing that they are getting a basic room at a hotel with a bad buffet, friendly dealers and close to all the really nice hotels leave with a smile on their face and $200 a night savings in their wallet.

Bakeralvin: You%26#39;ll enjoy your stay at the I.P. I don%26#39;t understand why people who pay $60 a night complain about this place either. It%26#39;s a total bargain and from what I read on your post, your expectations will be met by the I.P. The location is top notch. The rooms are fine. I enjoy the casino. It%26#39;s fun. My wife worked out at the spa but didn%26#39;t get a massage or anything like that. It%26#39;s wierd because it%26#39;s hard to find the spa. You%26#39;ll see what I mean when you get there. You take little elevator toward the front of the hotel to the second floor, and walk past a few board rooms. Then you%26#39;ll see the spa if you look real hard. ONce you find it, it looked okay to me, but nothing really fancy.

There is a real difference in ';ambience'; between IP and other places on the strip. So if you come expecting Ceasars Palace, you would be disappointed. My main complaint about the place is the food, its not all bad but that buffet is the only thing I can remember about the place and it was bad! Most other the other things people complain about are issues at other properties that charge more. You should be fine at IP.

I have also booked at the IP and beleive that it to be of a decent quality. I want a place in a good location, they have it, A place to sleep and shower, they have that, I place to gamble, they have that. No it may not be One of the high end hotels, but when all we have where I am at is a holiday in, this will be just fine for me.

I have noticed that all the reviews about the food say it is bad at the buffet, but I am not sure on the resturants, one or two are listed high on the resturant guide.

I plan on picking one or two places nice eating there and pick one of the higher rated buffets and eating there.

You just wont know until you get there to see if it what you expect, just remember the price you pay and take into account for all the items you are looking for.

My husband and I have stayed at the I.P. We loved it. It is small and you will be able to find each other again. It is alot of fun. I found the slots to be fairly loose. We are going to Vegas in April and we plan on staying at the I.P. for a couple of nights then the MGM for a few more nights. The people are alot of fun at the I.P. The beverage servers are there to give you cocktails as long as you do not move around so they cannot find you. The lounges are fun. The dealertainers are neat! You will have a great time. It is what it is rated.

I stayed at the IP in the early 80%26#39;s as a poor student on break and at that time it was a decent place. One thing that stays in my mind is how friendly all the staff was esp the dealers. I first went to the casino at a slow period and the dealers were helpful and instructive. The BJ dealer wouldnt let me make stupid newbie mistakes. My guess is you wont find that at Mandalay or the Mega Green Monster.

It all has to do with social class. If you can afford to stay at the upper end places, you know snobs, they tend to look down on evreyone else. Then there are those who are just foolish with their money, live and play beyond their means.

If you like it, it%26#39;s for you.

actually the ming terrace chinese at IP is excellent and cheap. The pizza place was good too. didnt try buffet as had read bad thhings. we liked it there
