We are an Australian family of 4 going to Las Vegas in September, and need help were to stay. Were looking at booking 1 shared room in one of thebigger hotels on the strip - Luxor/Excalibar etc. But also wondering if anyone knows a a nice self contained apartment within close proximity to the strip. Not sure if it is worthwhile booking a self contained as the meals are cheap aren%26#39;t they?? Another question is if we do book one of the major hotels, thinking about booking on the interenet maybe 2 months before hand hoping to get a reduced room rate - does anyone have any advice/recommondations or know if September is a busy time in vegas.
My husband would love to go and see a boxing fight whilst there, where can I find out what is on and how to get tickets.

How old are the kids?
September is an inexpensive time of year. I got a fountainview Bellagio room for $139/nt this past September.
Book now directly w/the hotel and cancel if you find a cheaper rate. A hotel will also adjust the rate if it goes down in price (if you call them and complain). Also, sign up for the email promotions-- this is how I got my Bellagio room.
Boxing is VERY expensive, unless you%26#39;re willing to sit in the nosebleed seats... go to the MGM website for the prices of the shows this spring... you%26#39;ll be shocked at the cost.

Westgate Flamingo Bay Resort is nice. It%26#39;s an apartment complex type setup, which has been turned into an off strip resort for familes. Two bedroom - fully furnished, nice amentities. Below is the link to thier site. Hope it helps.

There are different levels to Boxing in Las Vegas. If you go to the MGM or Mandalay Bay for a fight, yes, you will pay through the nose. $150 is going to be the cheapest seat. If it%26#39;s not more than that. But if you catch the fights at The Orleans, Arizona Charlie%26#39;s Or Texas Station. $150 is what you%26#39;ll pay for 2 to have the best seats and 5 beers a piece. You might even still have change.

Meals in Vegas are cheap for what you get, but they are not the bargain they used to be. Even the cheapest Buffets are $15 a person for dinner. What kind of gourmet meal can you prepare for that price?
When you decide where to stay, book then. If the price drops you can cancel your old reservation and make a new one. Book directly through the hotels website. Not a 3rd party provider.
