Top 10 things you can't miss when you go to Vegas

Ok what things top 10 can a person not miss seeing when in Vegas, from sites to shows to activities. Trying to put my final itinerary of events to try and follow, but need to make sure I covered all the main things.

Top 10 things you can't miss when you go to Vegas

Everyone%26#39;s list will be a bit different, because everyone has different tastes. Between everyone answering you should get a good idea of what to see.

We%26#39;re big on arts, music, side trips and nature so here%26#39;s mine off the top of my head and I%26#39;m sure I%26#39;m leaving off a ton of stuff:

1. Fountains, conservatory and Chihuly glass sculpture ceiling in Bellagio.

2. The Venetian, all of it. They did a great job of recreating the feeling of being in Italy, cheesy as it may be (look for the real bat that lives inside - seriously! Kept us on our toes during dinner last year, swooping down around the restaurant we were in).

3. Star Trek Experience.

4. Elton John.

5. Side trips to Hoover Dam and Red Rock Canyon.

6. Dolphins at Mirage. Mesmerizing and relaxing way to spend some off-time. I think we were in there nearly 2 hours.

7. Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay.

8. Go to at least one really good buffet, if only to experience it. We%26#39;re not so much into mass quantities, but did enjoy Paris%26#39;s buffet a heck of a lot.

9. Freemont Experience.

10. Ethel M Chocolates - a small factory with gift shop (and good chocolate samples!). Best part, however, is the amazing cactus garden on the premises.

Top 10 things you can't miss when you go to Vegas

You can walk through most casinos in 30 minutes or so and get a decent feel for the place. But to see it all, some places will take you hours. Caesar%26#39;s, Bellagio, Venetian, Mirage and Paris deserve more of your time in my opinion.

Must see free activities that I take first time visitors to see include:

Fountains and Conservatory at Bellagio.

Forum shops at Caesar%26#39;s

Architecture, Frescoes, Gondoliers and tile (Does this remind anyone else of the video game Q%26#39;Bert??) at Venetian.

Fremont light show downtown.

Sirens show at Treasure Island.

Volcano, Tigers and Aquarium at Mirage.

View from the Top of the Stratosphere.

Showgirls statue at the Riviera, rub them for luck.

Vegas.com is a great place to see what shows are available during your stay. Click on ';shows'; enter the dates of your stay and choose from whatever category you want a list.

not in any order:

1. bellagio fountains

3. elton john or celion dion show

4. grand canyon, hoover dam, red rock canyon side trips

5. freemont experience/golden nugget

6. caesars forum shops/fashion show mall

7. go up the eiffel tower lift (at paris hotel) to the top for a great view of the strip

8. go to lakes las vegas if you like to play golf

9. take a helicopter ride over the strip at night or out the grand canyon

10. Hire a car and cruise down the strip

Hoover Dam is something to see!
