SLC is almost exactly 400 miles. My folks live in UT and I used to drive up to visit on holiday weekends. You can do it in about 6-8 hours. Traffic%26#39;s northbound on I15%26#39;s pretty light. It starts picking up at St George, and Provo-Orem. Though for someone from the UK-it%26#39;ll seem like a non-event. SOUTHBOUND on weekends, though is another story. You didn%26#39;t when you%26#39;re planning on this trip, but be advsed that snow in the Utah passes is not uncommon until mid/late May....

We live in Idaho but have to fly out of Salt Lake. I heard it is 6-8 hours as well, depending on traffic. HOWEVER, you can get GREAT deals flying out of Salt lake. We got RT tickets to Vegas for $90 WITH all taxes included. To me it is worth it to pay the money to fly, get there quicker and spend more time in Vegas, than to spend your whole vacation driving...and with gas as expensive as it is right now, flying seemed the cheapest thing to do!
