Plumbing problems at the Monte Carlo

Can somebody please explain what the problem is with the mentioned ';loud plumbing'; at the Monte Carlo?

Do you hear the pipes while you%26#39;re just sitting in the room? Do you hear somebody taking a shower in the next room? Or do you only hear it while you%26#39;re in the bathroom? I remember reading a post a while back stating that his wife stepped back from the toilet because it ';flushed loud';. While I think this is something that doesnt even merit being mentioned. I wouldn%26#39;t necessarily care if the toiled ';flushed loud';, which usually only takes about 5 seconds. I will be staying at the Monte Carlo in a few weeks and I would really like some clarification.

And for the people who mentioned that they did NOT hear any plumbing noise....could you please specify which floor/section of the hotel you stayed in?

Thanks

Plumbing problems at the Monte Carlo

More myth than substance. Most of the complaints are rooms by the elevator shafts which contain the plumbing shaft nearby. Motto, do not get a room near an elevator.

Patswings,

Thanks for the info.....I just returned from Vegas and want to return soon as I save up the money.....I had eliminated Monte Carlo as place to stay because of so much commenting on this forum about loud plumbing.......I am not an overdemanding person but they did make it sound like a problem I didn%26#39;t need.

But while in Vegas last week, I went in Monte Carlo to try the slots and felt a good vibe about the place, also decided to have a meal there which I enjoyed.

They have a very nice selection of slots and overall made a good impression on me so had almost decided I might stay there next time.......your explantion about the plumbing in the elevator shafts

is very helpful and I will use this information when I book.

Thanks again.

Over the years, I have stayed two or three times at the Monte Carlo. Here is my experience with the loud plumbing noises:

When you flush the toilet at Monte Carlo, it is a huge power flush. It was almost as if there was a geyser in the bowl. The flush itself was very loud. And there has been some splash-back. To be more explicit than I like to be, don%26#39;t flush while seated, unless you enjoy a bidet (or a wet butt).

The flush of your commode, with the bathroom door closed, can be heard in your bedroom. While entertaining friends in our room, at normal conversational sound levels, no music playing, no boisterous conduct, we were not distrurbed by the noise of other people%26#39;s plumbing -- either toilets or showers. We might have heard the noises, but they were not intrusive. In the silence of a Vegas dawn, while trying to go to sleep after an all-nighter with massive consumption of Red Bull, I was not aware of any plumbing noises. But at that hour, there proably were no such noises.

Bottom line, I think the problems are vastly exaggerated. Or I%26#39;ve been fortunate in my room assignments. But remember, don%26#39;t flush while sitting!

Agree 100% with Mike45. My last stay at the Monte Carlo was in January. We did notice that the toilets have a rather loud flush but it lasted about 5 seconds and you wouldn%26#39;t even notice it in the bedroom area if you were sleeping or the tv was on. We also did not notice any noise from nearby rooms, but we spent very little awake time in the hotel room. I wouldn%26#39;t make any decision based on this ';problem.';

Jersey-Girl,

Go and have a good time. As you may have noticed some people just complain about rather small things that in the skeem of things are just minor. I have been to Monte Carlo several times and have not noticed loud plumbing and as others have stated I spend very little time in the room.

Have a great vacation and report back to us on how much fun you had at the MC.

Hey,

Thank you all for your posts. I have planned this trip for weeks now...but I just wanted some further information on this ';loud plumbing'; I%26#39;ve heard so much about :o)

It hasn%26#39;t really made me alter my plans or second guess my decision. But I DID want to know what I might be getting into. I%26#39;m not one of those people who care about the small things(for example: a loud flush) :O) So I%26#39;m guessing I%26#39;m going to have a great time in Vegas.

I too, was a bit nervous about staying at the Monte Carlo after all of the plumbing ';thin walls'; reviews. We went, we stayed, we had a wonderful time. I was the one that mentioned the toilet and my husband%26#39;s ';jump'; - only cause it%26#39;s the only thing that was somewhat loud and it was kind of funny. Didn%26#39;t hear a thing otherwise. The hotel is beautiful and we had absolutely no complaints whatsover. Go .... enjoy, have a great time!
