Love this forum. Been reading it for a couple of weeks. Husband and I have 5 nights @ Caesars beginning Apr 11. We stayed there twice in 2004 and love it. Seems all sorts of things are happening that could discourage our trip, from car problems requiring expensive repair bills to my falling and breaking my upper right arm (I am right handed) 3 weeks ago. I think it would take a booming voice from out the sky saying ';Stay Home!'; to keep me away. Children have teased about not being able to pull the arm on the slots. I assured them I could feed the money in with my teeth and push the buttons with my nose if need be. As my post name says, LV is a total escape for us. We tend to be rather conservative in our daily lives and are totally immersed in our children, grandchildren and their various ';problems';. Not when we are in Vegas. Husband doesn%26#39;t even have to put out garbage there.
A hint for those newbies who are asking about comps. It helps to play where you stay. If you play slots, it doesn%26#39;t seem to matter as much as to which denominations you play as to how long you play at a game. My husband tends to play the $1 and $5 machines and I play pennies and nickels. I get more comps than he does because he jumps from one machine to the other. Before leaving, we always check with the casino host to see if we have played enough to get our room comped.
I booked directly with the casino host for this stay and originally she was going to give me 2 nights comped, but I didn%26#39;t book then. I called back later and a second person checked both our records and said she could give us 3 nights. I later received an offer in the mail giving me 3 nights and $75 comp credit and my husband was offered 1 night and $50 credit. I called back and the host was able to arrange it for us to have 4 nights comped and we will probably play enough to get the last night free. Sorry this is so long. Just get all revved up about the trip and don%26#39;t want to talk about anything else.
My first post
WOW !
How many pennies and nickels does it take to actually get FREE rooms? I don%26#39;t know if I have the patience for that but I will try next time.
So, if I spend an entire day just playing nickels and pennies then it is possible to get FREE nights???
Can you explain to me exactly how much money and time was spent and how many points on your cards accumulated?
My first post
Deacon,
We don%26#39;t have mega bucks and are not high rollers, but we do spend a good bit while we are there. We usually take $4-5,000 with us, but don%26#39;t usually spend it all. Don%26#39;t know how many points I had. Helps that you can play at the sister casinos with the same card and rack up points there, too. Love the penny and nickel videos. They are a blast and the bonus rounds can be quite profitable. I took out $500 on a penny machine @ CC and won over $1,700 on a nickel machine in N.O.
Lets assume that I planted my butt on a penny machine from 9am to 7pm and played virtually nonstop except for bathroom breaks. What could that get me?
So LV, are you saying its how much time you spend gambling not how much money you spend? Please explain again.
Probably depends on the generosity of the casino. We have gotten meals, rooms, transportation to and from the airport, etc. I try to charge as much as I can to the room and just remember not to spend that money in case I can%26#39;t get it comped. Then visit the casino host before leaving. I%26#39;ve had great hosts who went out of their way to help me and others that acted as though it was a bother to talk with me. Even if you do not get much comped from an all day stay at a penny machine, you should have lots of fun (maybe become addicted to them - my husband plays them now, too.) and you may walk away with a nice addition to your bankroll. Make no mistake, it can cost a lot to play them, if you play max credits. Some machines have 20 or 25 lines with the possibility of playing 20 credits on each line. Do the math, that%26#39;s $4 - $5 a pull. You can win even with one credit played, but I would never play less than all the lines.
Dollarslots, I%26#39;m no expert, but if you notice the read out (where they show your credits) there is a countdown for the ';session';. Each machine has a set number of credits that has to be played in a session to give you a comp credit. If you leave the machine before you have played that number, you do not get credit for that play. I believe that is how it works. I am sure you would get more comp credits for a whole day of dollar play on the same machine than on a penny machine. I just can%26#39;t afford to play all day on dollars. We do splurge on occassion and play the $5 slots and have been known to drop a few bucks in the $10 machine, though rarely and only after having won a little something.
I have to fess up, I mostly play the nickel slots. I just used the screen name dollar slots coz I thought it sounded cute! He!He!
Where did you stay?? Sounds like they comp pretty well however you also played quite a bit it seams. I am going to play quite a bit anyway so it might as well be somewhere I will get great offers from my comps!!??? Thanks!
Oh my gosh, I just realized I blew right past the part of your post that says ';staying at Ceasars in April';. Obviously that is where you played and got comped. Sorry! Ceasars is one casino I have not visited but I plan to change that when we are in Vegas later this month. Hope you have a great trip in April.
I stayed at Caesars and played at some of their other properties, too, Bally%26#39;s, Paris. We, also, played at other casinos on the strip. With Caesars Connection Card (Players Club Card) you can comp yourself at the Kiosks once you have established a pin number with them. At Bally%26#39;s. for instance, if you want to eat at the buffet, you can find out at the Kiosk how much it costs and if you have enough comp cash, you can print out a ticket to pay at the buffet.
