Luxor... a good deal for the money!!

Just returned from Vegas.....3 nites at Paris, 2 nites at Luxor.

Both were fine but rates at Luxor were considerably lower and I found the decor fun, everything in my room was egyptian inspired and bath was very nice with a very deep soaking tub and separate shower. I stayed in a tower room due to tips from this forum and I would recommend tower. Only drawback was a little bit of a walk from checkin to room but Vegas is all about walking anyway. Clean!

Judy, thanks for your review. I%26#39;ll be at the Luxor for 2 nts. later this month and booked a tower room. Do you think my kids, 11 and 14, will like the place? Also, we are arriving early before checkin on a Wed. and wonder if they have a place to store luggage while we roam around. One more thing, did you do any of their attractions, IMAX, simulator rides, etc.? Sorry for all the question.

Thanks!

Luxor... a good deal for the money!!

Luxor is an amazing hotel. we stayed in the Pyramid, but I hear the tower rooms are just as fantastic. I also loved the Buffet. For less money the Pyramid Cafe was great and not very expensive.

I was able to view a few rooms during my stay last week and the Luxor was the least impressive to me. The decor was shoddy. If you can get a deal elsewhere, I would go there. I think the Tower rooms are better than the Pyramid. But if you aren%26#39;t spending a lot of time in your room, what does it matter really?

Italian1, I used baggage check both ways and it is easy and convenient......had to leave my bags several hours on checkout . Baggage check is right next to registration and they just give you a receipt for number of bags you check.

I saw quite a few kids in the hotel and even tho I didn%26#39;t go to any of the attractions you mentioned, they did seem to have things kids would like. Be sure to go upstairs, there is a video room for kids, movies, museum, etc. Also a food court which was nice for me since I am a very lite eater and often would want just a bagel and coffee, etc. Food court had McDonalds, Svensons Ice Cream, Bakery (good stuff), pizza, Nathans Hot Dogs (nachos) and more.

Someone else was negative about their room on this posting but I can only suppose the rooms may vary since I am particular and I actually enjoyed my room.......only thing I can say is if at checkin you are not pleased, go back to desk and ask for different room. I don%26#39;t think I would chance the pyramid rooms since people on this forum talked about leaks, water spots, etc.

I stayed at Paris, also, and think kids would enjoy Luxor much more and there is a passage way over to the Excalibur which caters to kids. Be sure to take swim suits.

Italian1.....did this bump up so you would see my reply to you. Also might mention, you are close to MGM ...they have things for kids. You probably have the perfect location for kids. Also an outside roller coaster at NYNY, which is very close by.

Italian1,

Yes, there is an Imax Ride and Imax Cinema at the Luxor, the Imax ride is great fun !! Theres also a big arcade area and I imagine your kids will be quite happy here. Its a great hotel, rooms we%26#39;re lovely and good service. I spent a week there and had no problems. Room was great, (pyramid) used room service, laundry, baggage and safety deposit boxes (in reception and queues can get big but no great hassle) and very happy with the stay, would definitely go back !!!!

Have a great time

Jo

Thanks everyone for your input on the LUXOR! Can%26#39;t wait!
