leave on a sunday?

hi, we are going to vegas in july and i thought i had read that its worse to leave on a sunday than any other day. it makes sense because everyone wants to go home. we left last year on a saturday and it seemed really busy. is sunday a lot worse? is later better? thanks in advance

We have always gone to Vegas on Sunday for over 11 yrs. now and there isn%26#39;t much difference then any other day with the airport or checking in to hotel.

i think i made this a little unclear, we will arrive on a wednesday or thursday and leave las vegas to come home on sunday. also if we book a later flight to come home, is that any better? sorry for any misunderstanding, duh to me.

We have left on a Tuesday before and waited an hour in the security line in D terminal (this was before the nice benefit of being preferred status with USAirways and be able to use the First Class line.... ;-) ). We have left on Sunday evenings, Mondays and Thursdays, and sometimes the airport has been busy, other times no problem! Hard to tell what it will be like on any day now! As much as we all hate to leave the casinos and Vegas and wait at the airport, you still should allow yourself at least 1 1/2 to 2 hours before your flight to be at the airport, just in case!

Thursday to Sunday are the busy times for LV, so naturally the interstate and airport is extremely busy Sunday.
