Las Vegas' 100th Birthday

I%26#39;ve been on www.lasvegas2005.com. It hasn%26#39;t contained much info about Las Vegas%26#39; 100th birthday bash. Does anyone know of big names that will be entertaining on or near the strip? I%26#39;ve also checked ticketmaster without much luck.

We will be arriving 5/15 and leaving 5/20.

The biggest events for our 100th will take place over the 4th of July weekend, even thought the actual 100th year mile marker is in May.

Thier are a variety of events planned throughout May, June and July - in addition to the website you mentined - check the fremont street experience web page, where a list of events for the downtown are are posted.

Thanks VHM. We will be there 6 days. It seems like the last 2 times we were there (in 2004) we just missed seeing bands/performers by a couple of days.

May 10 - 15: HELLDORADO DAYS - WESTERN VILLAGE

Shine your boots and dust off your hat - HELLDORADO DAYS will return to Las Vegas in 2005! A re-creation of old Las Vegas will be staged at the Main Street Station parking lot from May 10 through 15. You%26#39;ll find a fully operating post office, a livery stable, general store and much more in the Western Village along with daily entertainment and food vendors. We will celebrate as only Las Vegas can on our town%26#39;s birthday, Sunday, May 15, 2005!!! The events start with a re-creation of the LAND AUCTION that started Las Vegas. The auction will be held in the Western Village at the Main Street Station parking lot. You won%26#39;t want to miss the WORLD%26#39;S LARGEST BIRTHDAY CAKE!! YES - our cake is registered with Guinness Book of World Records to break, or totally squash, the current record. Our cake will weigh-in at more than 130,000 lbs and will be served to everyone after the cake-cutting ceremony. This event takes place under the canopy of the Fremont Street Experience beginning at dusk.
