We are heading out in a few weeks for 2 days of fun. We are planning on staying 3-4 in a room even though we only purchased the room at double occupancy rates. (The rates were already high enough...and they wanted another $200/night!)
Has anyone ever heard of any issues with ';slipping'; a 3rd or 4th into a room (security, access, extra room keys, etc.)?
Extra person(s) in a room?
you can get by with it ,
you not going to get 4 room keys
Extra person(s) in a room?
Shouldn%26#39;t be a problem. Like Gus said, just don%26#39;t ask for extra keys!! Also, upon check-in, just keep the extra people out of sight/off to the side. When you go up to the rooms (after leaving the check-in reception desk), then have them join you at that point in time.
Basically, use common sense. :)
on the topic i was just wondering the same thing.
we booked a twin room for the two of us, me and my mate, so would it be pretty easy if i was out one night and got with some chic and brought her back to the hotel i should be able to get her up without getting caught by security?
Shouldn%26#39;t be a problem. The only problems in getting extra people into a room really seem to arise at the very beginning during check-in and going up to the room because that%26#39;s the only time the hotel staff would theoretically get to see the full number in your party. Every other time after that (in the regular comings and goings of your stay) they would have no way of knowing who is/is not in your room and whether or not the other person is just a guest in another room or hotel.
Granted, I%26#39;m not sure if this applies to the super fancy penthouse suites, etc. that require a separate key to operate the elevators. Not sure if those have more security or something.
If you lool back in the threads, their are posts covering this question. If you are checking in as two people - you will get no more than two keys. If additional keyys are issued later during your stay with ';I lost it'; or ';I left it in my room'; we will make you two more keys BUT the two orginal keys will be made inoperable.
We don%26#39;t do head counts to make sure x number of people are in the room. But, note that if the room is registered for two people - and housekeeping is having to clean a room of 4 or 5 people, they will advise us. Then we contact you and advise you that we are aware that more people are staying in the room than registered. At that time you will be charged the rate of the day (which if it is a sold out day can go at $500 for two persons plus the additional person charge.
As for meeting someone and taking them to your room - you are allowed visiting guest (not entire stay) - if they are with you, security will not stop them.
doug, many hotels will check your room key on the way to rooms,
if they ask she is with me to check out room,
there may be a few hotels who are on look out for the to many in room like hard rock, palms and your under 25, i am not sure,
i am 100% sure when your over 50 like us and staying at moderate casino there not checking
well the two of us are both 25 so we are just going over for a crazy time, try pull as many women as possible.
I have a question, slightly different one though.
I booked a hotel\flight package on line for 2 people. But now a third person wants to come and stay in our room with us. when we check in (NYNY) will we be able to just tell them there that we would like one more person in our room and pay the extra 20 or 30 a night or will they rerate our room for current prices??
the room is a 4 person max occ. room so we should still be able to have same room just an extra person.
Wanderlust - it would be best to advise the hotel prior to your arrival - a simple call updating your reservation. I understand that you have a 4 max occup. room, but if they are short on such rooms and you are an couple, we sometimes upgrade to a king or better before you arrive.
Best be safe -
Thanks for the advice VHM, I will do that. I want to smooth out any potential snags before I go so I will have a stress free as possible trip.
