We will be in Vegas end of the month. We love downtown from earlier visits. Please tell us the best places to gamble, eat, relax, drink and what have you. We don%26#39;t want to miss anything worth doing! Thanks ahead for advise.
Downtown-what not to miss
hereinoregon,
Are you staying downtown? We%26#39;re staying at GN in June.
Some of my fav%26#39;s are:
Golden Gate - .99 shrimp cocktail and breakfast at Bay City Diner.
Buffets at the Nugget and Main Street Station (never done MSS but going to make it a point this year...heard lots of good things).
Gambling at Fremont, GG, GN, Vegas Club, Four Queens, and sometimes Horseshoe.
Tony Roma%26#39;s in Fremont for dinner. Hugo%26#39;s Cellar is also highly rated, but never been myself.
Light show of course, and free live music every night.
Street performers, artists, etc. Just a great, laid back atmosphere and everything in walking distance. Love it!!
Downtown-what not to miss
There really are no Must Sees downtown. It%26#39;s more along the lines of ';While we%26#39;re down here we might as well....'; And the search function should work just fine for you. Just like you told someone to do on their 3rd post.
gamble at the horseshoe. the dealers are great - especially the craps guys. all in all, just a unique place to gamble. low limits too!

I%26#39;m not sure what you mean by ';must see';. But I would rank downtown%26#39;s Fremont Experience certainly up there with of Bellagio%26#39;s Fountains, TI%26#39;s Sirens or Mirage%26#39;s Volcano as a must for first timers.
I find the latter three a little boring now.
When you factor in the bands and the diversity of the crowd, the fremont experience seem fresh every time I go. Once a trip is enough though.
Yes, it was a lazy post wasn%26#39;t it? But when you put downtown in the search you get about 9000 posts! I think everyone just wants to make sure they do the best they can with their time. It would make it a whole lot easier if you could just tell me to go into casino X, turn right at the debit machine, walk to the third isle second machine on the left, deposit 25 cents, win $500, go down one floor and eat $1 shrimp cocktail...........light show starts just after I buy my drink and find a seat......
hereinorgon,
i always like to check out the design of casinos and there all close down town,
i like main street station best,
simple things for been there done that like spray paint man, berlin wall, nugget at gn.,sports area of vegas club.people watching, lon bronson one of best long acts in town sat. and mon. late nite (gn)
a quick walk away from freemont st to check out old type casinos , western and the one i like to play at el cortez.
Good point Gus. My husband is a builder and loves to look at structure and design. I will be sure to check out MSS too, someone on another post said it had a really old neat bar or something. Would like to try gambling at some ';odds friendly'; casinos too. Thanks for all the replys.
Here,
Really, what I was saying is that it was rather rude of you to tell someone who posted only 2 times before to go and do a search, rather then a post in their desire for knowledge. Therefore you should do that yourself. I know all the really great things downtown. I worked there for 2 years. But I%26#39;m not going to give them to you here.
Joe
Okay, thanks VM. I feel like I have been slapped in the face. To be honest I have been somewhat in awe of you and I don%26#39;t know what I have done to offend you so much. I am sorry if I offended anyone particularly you.
Sorry, my first reaction was to think of myself. I am sorry if I offended the person that made that post too. I did not look at how many posts they had made (I never do I guess) and I was being selfish because I was tired of the question. There. I am sorry, this is not my forum just my entertainment for the time being. Long story, so could you please lighten up a little???
