Don%26#39;t know if anyone posted this before but there is a good newsletter available to to keep updated on current events in Las Vegas. There is alot of info I haven%26#39;t had time to look at yet. www.casinocity.com

Interesting to read for those of us that have to wait a few months before we get there.

Tipping with chips?

Is is kosher to tip people using casino chips? Or is that not a good thing to do?

Like housekeeping, waitstaff, bartenders, drivers?

I don%26#39;t know why, I like the idea of tipping people with chips!

I am no expert, but i think cocktail waitresses, dealers, and hotel staff it would certainly be ok, it is standard practice... housekeeping, i am not sure the protocol, drivers and such, i have no idea....

There is a web site by a vegas cocktail waitress. Can%26#39;t remember the name of the site. But she said the only chips that are a problem are roulette ones if they are from a different casino.

Chips are a perfectly normal way of tipping. All we have to do is go to the cashier to turn them into real money. Roulette chips should not be removed from the table. Trade them in for real chips before leaving the table.

Can anyone tell me hoe much you are allowed to spend in the States if I am only there for 4 days? I know you have to claim what you spent when returning to Canada, just wondering what that number was.

I think you can spend as much as you want. It is what you bring back that matters.

LasMeagan call: Canada Customs and Revenue Agency 1-800-461-9999 they can answer any question you have about what you must claim and amounts - I think it%26#39;s $1000 into Canada, but call for sure.
