Cirque Shows?

I%26#39;m sure this has been covered to death and I did try searching thru the site first but it%26#39;s exhausting!

Debating between O, Zumanity and Mystere. I%26#39;ve heard terrible things about Zumanity but I was kind of intrigued.

I%26#39;d appreciate any input you can give.

Thanks a lot everyone!

Cirque Shows?

Most of us here are big fans of Mystere... it%26#39;s also my favorite.

O is a beautiful show but if you go, make sure you get good seats! Don%26#39;t waist your $$ on bad seats.

Zumanity is interesting... don%26#39;t go if it%26#39;s your first Cirque experience. The other two are better options for a first timer. Save it for next time.

Ka is also in Vegas now... it%26#39;s at the MGM. It opened w/in the past 6 months... heard mixed reviews but I%26#39;m SO excited.

Cirque Shows?

I%26#39;ve seen the O show....it is awesome! My first cirque show. I haven%26#39;t seen Mystere yet, don%26#39;t care to see Zumanity. If you see O, get good seats, like the other person said. We sat middle, upper area (mezzanine?). That way you can see everything. It%26#39;s a beautiful show.

I agree too, with your opinion that it can be difficult searching through posts! :)

I%26#39;m going to Las Vegas in June and am trying to find some interesting show to see.

Have you ever seen a Cirque show ?

If you have, first choice is Ka at the MGM. 2nd choice is O and the 3rd is Zummanity.

If you have never seen a cirque show, go to Mystere.

Just got back and we saw %26#39;O%26#39;, it was amazing. We even had the limited view seats and there was no obstruction. Highly recommend the show.

i was just like you intrigued about Zumanity.

Last octuber i saw both O and Zumanity, save your money dont go to Zumanity this is not cirque du soleil, but O is the best show i ever saw.

Now im going next week with my wife and we will see O again and Mistere, the Ka is dark the week we are staying there.

Not one bad thing has been written about Mystere, so I suggest seeing that, and look at the $60 tickets available online at the TI website. Just a suggestions..

Thanks everyone. I think we%26#39;re going to try for the Mystere tix. Ka is dark when we are there too, unfortunately because that one appealed to me the most.

It%26#39;s a lot of money tho and we%26#39;ve already spend nearly $600 (gasp!!!) on Elton but we still feel compelled to see at least one of them.

Thanks again! You guys are the best!

You can get $60 tickets to see Mystere if you wanted to save a few $$. They are at the side rather than at the front of the stage, but everyone says there are no bad seats in the theatre.

  • America West, I'm hearing horror stories

I%26#39;ve booked our air from Pittsburgh to LV 4/9/-4/14 Got a super rate, total for 2 direct roundtrip flights $468.00.

I was thrilled but am starting here them referred to as as america worst etc.

America West, I'm hearing horror stories

You could say the same about any airline out there! Ask anybody who travels and you%26#39;ll hear something along the lines of ';Well, I will NEVER fly %26lt;insert name of airline here%26gt; again!'; We flew America West over the holidays from O%26#39;hare to Sacramento and then Santa Ana to O%26#39;hare, both times with a stop in Las Vegas. No problems whatsoever. You got a great price for your flight, especially since it%26#39;s a non-stop. A few things to keep in mind: They will not be feeding you on your flight. If you want something to eat, bring it with you or be prepared to shell out for the pre-packaged stuff they offer. Also, I think it was about 5 dollars to rent a set of headphones for the movie. Yuck.

Have a wonderful time and let us hear all about it when you get back!

America West, I'm hearing horror stories

I have flown America West to Vegas from Tampa, Orlando, New Orleans many times and never had a problem..I have also booked travel packages with them online before and have always been happy. When I fly out to Vegas, they are my first choice along with Southwest being my second..As a matter of fact, I am flying AW this summer to Vegas for free in first class with all my f.flyer miles I have with them...Don%26#39;t worry it will be okay..Just relax and enjoy planning your trip...

Yeah, don%26#39;t worry about it. I flew with them and it was fine. I don%26#39;t think any of the airlines are feeding people anymore unless you are in first class. I%26#39;m sure you will be fine and have a wonderful vacation!

I have flown them a few times recently out to LV and haven%26#39;t had any problems.

Actually the last time I flew them we were delayed leaving LV for mechanical reason and I would have missed the connection in Pheonix along with about another 25 people but when we got there we found out they held the flight 20-25 minutes so we could all get on.

I will say when they 1st started food service months back the food was better and cheaper.

Where is Walgreens on the Strip?

Where is Walgreens on the Strip, ie which hotel is it nearest? We are staying at the IP.

    Thanks.

Where is Walgreens on the Strip?

Imperial Palace is located at 3535 S. Las Vegas Blvd. There are 2 Walgreens on the Strip. One at 3763 Las Vegas Blvd S (Closest next to MGM and across from Monte Carlo) , other is at 3025 Las Vegas Blvd S Across from Stardust.

Where is Walgreens on the Strip?

Thanks very much for the prompt reply VM.

WALGREENS (near S%26amp;W) is the center of the universe! It is TEH social spot of LV! It is actually a great place to meet people, you will even meet people from back home! I LOVE W%26#39;s and make 2 stops per day there! its the best!!

    Do these Walgreens carry liquor?

No liquor, but there is a decent liquor/convenience store toward the back of Desert Passage in Aladdin. Prices were good. By the way, there is a CVS drug store almost across the street from Walgreens, next door to Monte Carlo. No liquor. Some beer, wine and spirits next to the CVS though, but not as nice as Aladdin.

    trixie,

There are multiple convenience stores on the Strip or slightly off it that sell liquor in addition to the ABC in Aladdin%26#39;s Desert Passage. The cheapest liquor stores I%26#39;m aware of are at Gold Coast and Orleans. The Strip stores aren%26#39;t cheap, about a buck a beer for domestic, but they%26#39;re much cheaper that most casino options.

I have to laugh at Honest John%26#39;s response because Walgreens truly is the center of the Universe. I remember being so happy to see the Walgreens last time in Vegas, got my bottled water and was so excited....

Walgreens may not be the centre of the universe, but they sell stuff we can%26#39;t get at home, like hubbys migraine tablets. We have to depend on friends visiting the US to keep his stocks up, as it%26#39;s a while since we%26#39;ve been, and they are the only thing that keeps his migraine in check.

What sort of stuff do Walgreens sell? I guess it must be a pharmacists but do they do other things as well?

Walgreens is great..whatever essentials you forgot to bring from home you can get at Walgreens...prescriptions, toiletries, personal hygiene stuff, batteries, film, sunglasses, etc.. Not to mention you can pick up some water, snacks, souvenirs, and even develop film or print digital pictures...Cvs is also nice, but I like Walgreens better..they have more of a variety in my opinion..

Where is check in at the luxor?

Hey everyone I booked a room in one of the towers at the luxor and was wandering do they have their own separate check-ins or should I go straight to the pyramid to check in. I%26#39;m asking because on the pics of the luxor the towers don%26#39;t look like they connect to the pyramid. Or does it have check in at the airport?

Where is check in at the luxor?

They don%26#39;t have checkin at the airport When you get out the taxi just go through the glass doors and the checkin desk is to the right

Where is check in at the luxor?

msvanish is exactly right.........check-in to the right as you walk in.

The pyramid and both towers are at the same check-in.

Just returned Sunday from stay in tower......you will be pleased.

    Have a great trip.

    SouthernGuy,

I%26#39;m so glad you asked the question because I am staying there too and arriving in a rental car(taking some side trips). I wanted to know if I could take the luggage out, check in and then have a valet park my car. I%26#39;m worried that the parking garage is a long walk. Advice anyone?

    Thanks!

    Same situation I have had.

Valet will park you car and you walk right in with your luggage to check-in. Now I have shown up with huge lines to check-in and I have shown up with no lines. I guess its a craps shoot.

  • choosing the best hotel

thinking of planning a trip to las vegas from Scotland in the united kingdom.obviously this will require a fair amount of cash and have just read a review about the bellagio having stained carpets in one of its suites, this is a bit scary as i imagined that everything would be gorgeous, any advise from anybody on choosing the right hotel.

    choosing the best hotel

Depends what you want to do. Venetian is my favorite, every room is a suite. But it%26#39;s towards the end of the strip. If you want to be right in the middle of the strip, Paris is the nicest. Ballys is right next to it, and they are connected. Ballys is not as nice, but cheaper. If you want to be in a ';hip young crowd'; with tons of sexy people (vegas is packed with sexy people, but some places are just sexier), Palms has the packs of hotties. But it%26#39;s off the strip. Hard Rock is much cheaper than Palms and has had a similar vibe everytime I%26#39;ve been there.

    choosing the best hotel

thanks uclakid, think i will stay away from the sexy parts of town,i want to return home with my husband, dont want some sexy stealing him.........

rosquet, what do you plan on using the room and facility for? What age group do you want to be around? Most people put way too much effort is selecting a hotel.

vegashomeboy.thats a good question coz we couldnt make up our minds about how much we should spend on accommodation.could spend a lot of cash on a really nice suite and end up not spending to much time in it,but i would like a bit of luxury.we are both in our thirties by the way.

    Hi,

We stayed at the Bellagio last year %26amp; absolutely loved it. We booked the Lakeview room %26amp; are doing it again this year (leaving Mar. 27). I am extremely fussy %26amp; did not have one complaint. I find it hard to believe that there were rooms with problems as we saw housekeeping steam cleaning the carpets on our floor as people checked out (or at least that is what we assumed). Matter of fact we both commented on the fact that the room still had a ';new'; smell to it.

The rooms are gorgeous - elegant but understated. And the bed is the most comfortable bed I%26#39;ve ever had the pleasure to plunk my fat arse. I can%26#39;t rave enough about this hotel. The pool area is spectacular - 6 pools in a garden setting. We really enjoyed spending time there - it was pretty quiet (and cooler) last year.

Now we tend to stay mainly at the Marriott/Renaissance when we travel so I%26#39;m not sure if you are a Four Seasons/Ritz Carleton hotel type how the Bellagio stacks up with that type of luxury hotels.

We have stayed at Paris %26amp; really enjoyed it but it paled in our opinion to the Bellagio.

We will be staying at the Venetian as well this coming trip %26amp; I will be posting when we get back - probably the first week of April.

This is just my opinion for what it%26#39;s worth. Hope this helps.

I have stayed in suites in both Bellagio and Venetian. The Bellagio is a step above the Venetian in all aspects, but I really enjoyed both hotels equally. Our suite at the Bellagio was perfect in every way, and the staff was incredible. I have stayed in both a Prima suite and a regular suite at the Venetian, and these were beautiful as well. I don%26#39;t think you%26#39;ll be disappointed in either one.

What about the new Wynn hotel? Its website is up and running now, and I%26#39;ve booked it for future stay.

thanks pignacious,i thought the bellagio looked great, nice to get a reply confirming that it really is as nice as it looks,so how posh is it,i like nice things and i suppose im a wee bit fussy but i cannot stand pretentious crap and snobbery,is it a nice place without the above.

thanks vegas traveller, will look at wynn.

    Hi Rosquet,

I am with you all the way on the snobby crap. In October we stayed at a Westin in San Fran %26amp; it was just dripping. Didn%26#39;t ruin our vacation but sure p%26amp;ss%26#39;d me off. We did not run into that at all at the Bellagio - at least it was not noticeable. I mean if you stay at any 5 star hotel I guess it is always possible.

Oh couple of things. If you are looking for nightlife the Bellagio is pretty tame. They have a couple of bars with good bands (free with 2 drink minimum) but not a Vegas-wild kinda hotel.

Just to add to previous - hubby is pretty frugal guy. Not big at paying $$$ for a hotel. Gave as a Xmas present last year %26amp; his idea was it%26#39;s going to be really nice to stay at Bellagio once. Now he cannot imagine staying anywhere else. He%26#39;d rather spend a day less in Vegas %26amp; book the Bellagio.

    -Chris

thanks again chris, think we will definately have at least 2 night at the bellagio and sample a couple of others as well.

    discount cirque tickets

coming to vegas in june 4-8th and am prepared to pay full price for Ka.....wondering if there is any way around paying full price to O on the 8th of june.

    cheers.

    discount cirque tickets

From what I%26#39;ve read on here, there are never any discounts on the Cirque shows unfortunately.

    discount cirque tickets

Nope. They don%26#39;t sell half price tickets either.

Go ahead now and pay full price on the internet so you get better seats.

The limited view seats at Mystere (TI) are $60.
