Can anyone help with info on having a great time in Vegas at the best prices? Shows, resturants, sightseeing, transport from airport etc. We are a couple in our 50%26#39;s.
1st Time to Vegas
Fleur,
Bootleggers Bistro would be a good choice in a restaurants - it%26#39;s about a mile from the strip (ending out of Vegas) - go on a Friday/Saturday night - make reservations for Main dining room around 9pm. Stay for the Sonny King show - LOTS of history with that man and he is sensational. Excellent Italian food. Sonny King worked with Jimmy Durante for years (I think around 28 years or so), he was friends (very good friends) with Frank Sinatra. Roomed with Dean Martin, etc. He always tells the story (and many more stories) of his life with the ';Rat Pack.'; Very entertaining. And can he sing!
Check out their website - www.bootleggerlasvegas.com. Restaurant is family-owned, been there for years and the daughter of the family is the Lt. Gov. of the State of Nevada and was an entertainer - if she is there that evening, she usually performs also. What a voice she has!
In my opinion, Sonny King is one of the best shows in Vegas for the price - as it%26#39;s just the price of your dinner! And you never know who is going to be eating dinner that night and may perform with him. Some of the cast from Mama Mia was there one night and performed a few songs from the show.
Enjoy your 1st trip to Vegas, I doubt it will be your last!!! You%26#39;ll be hooked.
1st Time to Vegas
Scan this forum and dining tab above. Go to Hotel web sites. Many post menus, show reviews and promotions. Go to LasVegas.com, Las Vegas Leisure Guide and other Vegas web sites. Choose center stip for hotel location. We see at least one major production show, one headliner and Improv comedy. We only eat a late breakfast and dinner. Dinner we like Italian @ Harrahs, Mon Ami @ Paris, Gallagher%26#39;s @ NYNY, Burgers @ Alladin, Samba @ Mirage, House of Blues @ Mandalay Bay, Rainforest @ MGM. One of our best trips was when we rented a car. Drove over the dam, toured Arizona and returned to Vegas. We catch a tax to/from the airport. Roughly 15.00.
There is so much to do in Vegas. You could do research for days and days. I%26#39;ve only been to Vegas once. it was only for about 2 days total. (Most of our vacation was spent in California.) This year We will deffinately see alot more of the city. Hopefully after the trip I can be more help to people in this forum. Enjoy your trip.
