Trip Report March 10-13, 2005.

Just got back from Vegas and wanted to post a trip report.

Thursday, March 10 (6:30pm) - Arrived at the airport 15 minutes early with a smooth flight from Indy, to Cleveland, then Vegas. Our baggage was already at baggage claim when we made it down to the area. The line for taxi%26#39;s was fairly long, but it did move quickly. Got in a cab and the driver asked if we had ever been to Vegas before and I advised him that it was my 5 or 6 time out there, I think he was considering using the tunnel, but didn%26#39;t when I answered. We got to the Aladdin at 7:10 and check in was very, very quick. I had a block of three rooms reserved and asked the girl if we could all get upgrades, she smiled and said she would be glad to do it. So we ened up all getting Bellagio Fountain View rooms. After she said yes I did slip her a few bucks for her troubles. After grabbing a quick shower we dinned at P.F. Chang%26#39;s where the food was great as ussual. After dinner some members of our party were tired from traveling but some wanted to venture out for a bit, so we headed to the Bellagio for drinks.

Friday, March 11 - Began the day with the all you can eat breakfast at Paris. Wow what a selection. Something for eveyone and it was very fairly priced. Walked around the rest of day. Saw many of the casinos and did some shopping at the Forum shops. It was the first time we were there since the newest expansion and wow is it even bigger now. I totally understand why this mall is the highest grossing retail space in America. Friday night we dinned at II Fornaio at NYNY. It was very good Italian food and was decently priced. We had a nice big table on their patio so we could do a little people watching while we had dinner. After dinner went over to the Monte Carlo for some craps action. to my surprise they had a few $5 tables so we played that. I almost doubled my money so I was happy.

Saturday, March 12 - More walking around and sight seeing. Took the ladies up to the fashion mall and the guys went to find some more afternoon craps. All the tables we really full every where and it was hard finding anything to fit our budget. That evening we dinned at The Steakhouse @ Circus Circus. I can not believe a place like this is inside a dump like CC. The food was very good for fairly decent prices. The CC is an absolute dump however, and we even saw a drug deal in the parking lot while waiting for a cab to go back to the main area of the strip. After leaving craphole craphole, I mean Circus Circus, we went back to the Aladdin to play alittle more. Took a pretty good beating at the craps and BJ table and desided to sit in the Living Room bar instead of sit at cold tables.

Sunday, March 13 - Well it was time to leave and we were all sad. Ended the trip with brunch at Monamia at Paris on the patio. Got to sit out in the vegas weather for one last time until heading back to Indy (Or thought we were heading back, got stuck in Chicago for the night and returned Monday morning to Indy). All in all it was a great trip. The Aladdin is a a very nice hotel for the money. Its location is excellent and it has a very friendly staff. The couple issues I had witht he hotel are the bathroom pipes are a little noizy when water is running in your next door neighbors room and the billing department billed my credit card for my room and another roon in my party when they should have only billed me for one. Not huge issues. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone looking to stay in vegas.

Just a quick question - did you have to book for the steakhouse at CC or just walk in??? After everything I have heard about it I really want to pay a visit...Thanks...

Trip Report March 10-13, 2005.

We made a reservation about 5 days prior to visiting. That enabled us to get our ideal time for dinning. When we did arrive another couple was in line before us asking if they could get in (it was 7:30) and the guy told them their first opening was at 10:30 pm. So you might want to make a reservation.

Thanks for the heads up - will definately book...
